This is the Caden large-size camera backpack in gray. It’s a nice size and can carry a ton. The bag is durable. Mine is as good as new after taking it out 4-5 times a week for two years.
The Amazon listing actually says it is waterproof. That is not accurate. It’s got some water resistance. I’d say enough that if a storm pops up, you could find shelter. Not enough to stand in the pouring rain.
The straps are tough and have some venting. It would be nice if they used the same ventilation for the back. Unfortunately, they didn’t. I notice my back gets hot and sweaty while wearing this bag for long periods of time. I’m not a small guy and this happens regardless, but higher-end bags seem to get less hot. This is the one downside I see with this backpack.
On the outside, there is a nice zipper pocket. This isn’t padded but is a great place to store things you need easy access to such as a neck strap or batteries. The bag is also equipped with two water bottle pockets. Aside from beverages, I like to keep a flash or business cards in these pockets.
Opening the bag, you’ll see a nice padded laptop compartment. This can fit up to a 15.6” laptop. Of course, this is great for notebooks and other similar-sized gear. I don’t recommend storing small objects such as lenses in this compartment as they would potentially drop out of the bag when opened.
The main compartment is nicely padded. You’ll find numerous padded Velcro dividers. These can be arranged as needed. My bag easily fits two cameras and several lenses. On small vacations, I’ve taken most of the dividers out to fit my clothes while still protecting my camera and a few lenses. The flexibility and protection are where this backpack shines.
Caden also makes a smaller version of this backpack. My daughter has that. It’s a little smaller than a normal-sized backpack, but not awkwardly small. It will still fit two camera bodies and a few lenses if needed. You’ll find the same protective dividers that can be arranged as needed.
The Caden camera backpack isn’t perfect, but it gets the job done. Your gear will be protected. The only downside is your back might be sweaty. For the price, I’d say this bag is tough to beat.
